Merritt Island, FL- A man was arrested for attacking an ATM.

23-year-old Michael Oleksik went to the ATM to withdraw cash late last month. Surveillance footage shows him receiving money from the machine, then repeatedly punching the ATM's touchscreen.

Oleksik caused more than $5,000 in damage to the machine and was charged with criminal mischief. Court records show that Oleksik called the bank branch and apologized, telling the manager that he was "angry the ATM was giving him too much money and didn't know what to do." [Newser]

I hope this dude received an ATM instruction manual for Christmas.

York, NE- An elderly couple was caught bringing some different trees home for Christmas.

Officers pulled over a truck that was crossing the center line and driving erratically. Cops immediately noticed a strong smell of marijuana coming from the vehicle.

Drug dogs were called to scene and authorities seized approximately 60 POUNDS of weed, which has an estimated street value of more than $330,000.

70-year-old Barbara Jiron and 80-year-old Patrick Jiron driving from California to Vermont...and told police they had intended to give the marijuana as Christmas presents. The couple was arrested for possession of marijuana with intent to deliver. [York News-Times]

Tiffin, IA- Another small traffic stop turned into another big drug bust.

38-year-old Dawn Colunga was pulled over for running a stop sign on December 15th. Police dogs detected the smell of drugs; officers searched Colunga's car and found nearly eight-and-a-half pounds of methamphetamine, along with a small bag of marijuana and heroin.

54-year-old Miguel Santillan was a passenger in the car and was in possession of a stolen handgun. Both have been charged with trafficking a controlled substance and could face a max of 25 years in prison. [Press-CitizenKWWL]
