If you were planning a trip to Adventureland in Altoona next month, you'll have to wait a little bit longer. The Iowa amusement park announced yesterday that it has, once again, changed its opening date for the 2020 season.

Late yesterday afternoon I received an email from Adventureland titled, "Adventureland 2020 Season Update." It was posted in response to Governor Reynolds' latest press conference, where she outlined what Iowa's plan of action is for reopening businesses within the state (you can read more on that HERE). The update reads:

"We continue to monitor the state and national health and safety guidelines in regard to COVID-19. The most recent updates have unfortunately caused our opening date to be pushed back, and we are now anticipating a June opening."

Adventureland was originally set to open for the season on May 2nd, but earlier this month it was announced that the opening date would be pushed to May 16th. Hopefully, this will be the final schedule change that Adventureland has to make, but they will be posting any additional updates on their official website and Facebook page.

If you already purchased a season pass for 2020, Adventureland has an update for you, too. The statement reads:

"All 2020 season pass holders who bought passes prior to May 1st will be given a prorated rebate based on the purchase price loaded on their season pass for each operating day missed in the season due to the State mandated Covid shutdown. The rebate will be issued to you onto your Season Pass Adventure Card at the time of processing."

For any additional questions, feel free to contact the park via email at info@adventurelandpark.com. You can read the full statement from Adventureland HERE.
