Fareway grocery stores will be closing at 7pm beginning on Friday, November 27. KWWL reports the Boone based chain will be closing its doors to customers earlier to free up additional time for deep cleaning, sanitation and for restocking inventory. The company also announced it's bringing back reserved shopping for customers that are 65 and older, expecting mothers, and for individuals with serious medical conditions that could place them at a higher risk for COVID-19.

As of this Friday, the chains hours will now be  8 am to 7 pm Monday - Saturday (all Fareway's are closed Sunday's), with the first hour blocked off as mentioned above. The company did not announce a timeframe for when it plans to revert back to its current standard hours at this time.

There are several Fareway locations thorough northeast Iowa, you can find them here.
