An Oelwein man has been taken into custody after authorities investigated a burglary earlier this week.

The Fayette County Sheriff received a report on Monday (Feb. 5) that a rural Oelwein property located on 45th Street, was broken into, and about $1,500 worth of items were stolen.

After gathering evidence at the scene, plus receiving an anonymous tip on Facebook, deputies executed a search at 127 2nd Avenue SE in Oelwein on Wednesday, recovering all of the stolen property.

As a result, 30 year old Roger Dean Hall II of Oelwein has been arrested on charges of Burglary 3rd degree, Possession of Burglary tools, and Driving While Barred.

Oelwein Police assisted the Fayette County Sheriff in the investigation.
