You read that correctly. Some cell users across the United States reported, that they received or had messages sent from Valentines Day, nearly eight months ago. People shared their confusion and frustration via Twitter and other social media apps about texts sent to bosses, exes, and other loved ones. Some texts, or lack thereof, actually caused some relationships to end. It certainly wasn't the best news to receive. While the issue occured over all four major carriers, Sprint seemed to be the provider that was attacked the most.

A statement was released by Sprint calling the issue a "maintenance update" across all carriers in the U.S. T-Mobile stated that problem came from a third party vendor, and AT&T and Verizon did not comment. Apple and Google also had no response about the weird happenstance as the issue occurred between Apple and Android users alike. KCCI Des Moines has the full story here.
