A Northeast Iowa man faces numerous illegal drug charges after authorities were called to his home on a domestic assault report.


On Sunday, Dec. 24th, the Fayette County Sheriff performed a welfare check at a residence in Clermont. A check on the female subject indicated that a domestic assault had occurred.

After an investigation and several interviews, 69-year-old Thomas Burrow of Clermont was arrested for Domestic Abuse Assault, Causing Bodily Injury.

A further investigation revealed that Burrow had multiple marijuana/hemp plants and paraphernalia in the home where he stayed. Four pounds of the illegal plants were confiscated.

As a result, Burrow is also being charged with 10 counts of a Drug Stamp Violation, Possession with Intent to Deliver, Possession of a Controlled Substance, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

If convicted of all of the charges, Burrow could face up to 64 years in prison.
