Authorities Looking for Burglars in Winneshiek County

Authorities in Winneshiek County are cautioning local residents to make sure their homes and vehicles are secure, as police have taken numerous reports of break-in's.

Both the Winneshiek County Sheriff and Calmar Police Department were called out to several burglaries in the Ossian area. The incidents have occurred in the overnight hours, and most have been garage and vehicle burglaries.

Residents have reported seeing an unidentified suspect, possibly male, running from the scene of the crime.

The Winneshiek County Sheriff cautions residents to always lock your homes, garages, outbuildings, and vehicles, and to remove your keys from all vehicles.

If anyone witnesses suspicious activity, they are urged to call 911 or local law enforcement.
