Governor Reynolds announced today that bars in Black Hawk County can re-open on Wednesday at 5:00 p.m. The proclamation permits all bars, taverns, wineries, breweries, distilleries, night clubs to reopen in three other Iowa counties: Dallas, Linn, and Polk counties. It appears COVID-19 case drops in these counties were sufficient to end the previous measure early that would have required bars stay closed until at least September 20th.

It also removes the restrictions set on the restaurants in those counties regarding sales of liquor after 10 p.m. It also clarifies the social distancing requirements that apply to bars and restaurants throughout the entire state.

Bars, taverns, wineries, breweries, distilleries, night clubs continue to be closed in Johnson and Story counties.

All information comes via a press release sent to this station from from Pat Garrett, Communications Director for Governor Kim Reynolds.
