An 18-year-old bicyclist has been arrested and charged in connection with a Monday night shooting in Waterloo.

Davon Matlock, no address given, was taken into custody on weapons and attempted burglary charges after police responded to a report of shots being fired at a vehicle in the 1100 block of South Street around 9:30 PM. The woman told police her vehicle was shot at by someone who fled the scene on a bicycle.

A short time later, police stopped Matlock on a bicycle near Williston Ave. and Minnesota St. Officials said Matlock matched the description of the shooter, and he was carrying ammunition that matched a shell casing found near the vehicle.

According to police, officers also located a .45-caliber auto handgun that Matlock allegedly used in the shooting.

Matlock was arrested on the following charges: intimidation with a dangerous weapon, reckless us of a firearm, carrying weapons, and third-degree attempted burglary of a vehicle.
