As feared, due to the Covid-19 crisis, the Waterloo Black Hawks season has been put on hold with multiple upcoming games being postponed and will be re-scheduled at a later date.

The United States Hockey League issued a statement on Thursday stating that upcoming Black Hawks games against the Lincoln Stars (November 20 & 25), Des Moines Buccaneers (November 21) and the Dubuque Fighting Saints (November 26 - Thanksgiving) and Green Bay Gamblers (November 28) have been declared No Contests. Per league safety protocols, minimum standards were not met to play these upcoming games. The USHL is working with the Black Hawks, and all teams affected to reschedule these matchups.

This year was going to mark the 50th time the annual Thanksgiving game would have been played, it has only been canceled a handful of times over the years. The Black Hawks are now scheduled to play their first home game of the season on Friday, December 4th against the Sioux Falls Stampede at Young Arena.
