Attorneys for a Northeast Iowa celebrity, accused of leaving the scene of a deadly accident, may know by next week if a deal has been reached regarding his charges.

36-year-old Chris Soules, made famous by the television shows "The Bachelor" and "Dancing with the Stars", had been charged with leaving the scene of an accident in April of 2017. Soules' pickup had rear-ended a tractor driven by Kenny Mosher near Aurora. Soules called emergency workers after the accident, and remained with Mosher until they arrived, but left before law enforcement responded. Mosher died from his injuries.

Soules is set to go to trial on November 7th in Buchanan County District Court in Independence. Soules' attorneys had asked for a change of venue because of pre-trial publicity.

During a pre-trial hearing on Tuesday, lawyers for Soules indicated that they were close to making a deal with prosecutors, and a decision on the deal should be known by Monday (Oct. 22).
