Early Morning Waterloo Shooting Puts Teen in the Hospital

An early morning shooting in Waterloo has put a teenager in the hospital.

17 year old Chandrique Day of Waterloo was admitted to UnityPoint Health-Allen Hospital just before 1am today (July 5). Day had sustained a gunshot wound to his upper leg.

According to sources, his wound was not considered life-threatening.

The location where the shooting took place, as well as the circumstances of the incident, were not released.

The shooting remains under investigation by the Waterloo Police Department.
