Fayette County authorities have arrested 2 people after getting a report of a wanted person hiding in the Hawkeye area.


The report came into the Fayette County Sheriff's Office on Thursday (Oct. 18). The tip allowed deputies to pull a vehicle over driven by 38-year-old Lisa Schroeder of Waucoma; officers had knowledge that Schroeder was wanted in Fayette County for parole violations, and in Winneshiek County for forgery and theft.

Schroeder was taken into custody on charges of Driving While Revoked, Operating While under the Influence 3rd Offense, No Insurance, Fraudulent use of Registration, No SR on File, and Operating a non-registered vehicle.

This investigation also led officers to a residence near Hawkeye, where deputies conducted a search. As a result, 42-year-old Jacob Wehrkamp of Hawkeye was taken into custody on charges of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Driving While Barred.

The investigation continues, and more arrests and charges are possible.
