UPDATE: The search for a missing Fredericksburg man is over.

Chickasaw County sheriff's officials confirmed late Tuesday afternoon that 86-year-old James Boyd has been found. They posted the following information on the department's Facebook page around 5:30 PM: "We are happy to share that Mr. Boyd has been located and is safe."

No other details were released about Boyd's disappearance.

Chickasaw County sheriff's officials are asking for the public's assistance in finding a missing Fredericksburg man.

Authorities are looking for James Boyd, 86, who was last seen around 2 PM Monday at the Walmart in Waverly. Boyd is described as a white male with gray hair, a mustache and stocky build. He's 5'8" and weighs about 225 pounds.

At the time he disappeared, Boyd was wearing bib overalls with a dark, pullover sweater and blue jacket. He was also wearing a dark baseball cap.

Officials said Boyd was driving a red Dodge Ram 1500 pick-up truck with Iowa license plates GV 327.

According to sheriff's officials, there are dementia concerns with Boyd. He family reported a previous incident in which Boyd got confused and lost. He was later located in the Minneapolis-St. Paul area of Minnesota.
