An Iowa College is One of the 50 Hardest Schools to Get Into

One Iowa school is pretty tough to get into!

24/7 Wall Street recently published an article titled, "The 50 Hardest Colleges and Universities to Get Into, Ranked." They used data from the National Center for Education Statistics to determine the admissions rates and and the median SAT scores for students admitted in the fall of 2022 to put together their list. Based on that data, only ONE Iowa college made the list!

Grinnell College is a "private, coed, residential liberal arts and sciences college" that was founded back in 1846. According to their website, around 1,750 students attend the college, and there's a 9:1 student to faculty ratio. In fact, most of their classes have less than 20 students!

24/7 Wall Street reports that Grinnell College has an admissions rate of 10.8%, making it number 36 on the list of the hardest colleges and universities to get into. The median SAT scores are 730 in reading & writing and 750 in math.

The average cost of tuition each year at Grinnell is around $28,610, with 89% of the students receiving financial aid. The school's graduation rate is 87%.
