Fans of Sioux City North and Council Bluffs Thomas Jefferson witnessed a very--bizarre--game Friday night.

The final score looked like that of a video game, or more accurately, a basketball game--Thomas Jefferson 99, Sioux City North 81.

TJ had a chance to go for triple digits, but head coach Brant Anderson opted to take a knee on the extra point attempt following his squad's final touchdown.

Sioux City North actually outscored the Yellow Jackets 60-42 after halftime.

Coach Anderson seemed conflicted following the game, telling the Omaha World-Herald, quote, "You look at that, and I don’t know whether to be happy or sad. It’s nice to get a win. Scoring 99 points is unreal. But giving up 81 points is probably worse."

According to the IHSAA, the combined 180 points is the most ever by two teams in Iowa history, and Jefferson's 99 points is the highest single-game total for an 11-man team since 1933.

I think those kids have earned a day off from practice.
