A study done last year found two-thirds of Americans think they're smarter than the average person which isn't mathematically possible. But hey, whatever keeps your ego intact, right?

Now a new study done by SafeHome looked at how smart people are in different states, by going through high school and college graduation rates, and average SAT and ACT scores.

So how did Iowa do? With Washington D.C. included, Iowa ranked #13 out of 51. Not bad! Whether that's a true measure of intelligence is debatable. But according to the study, the smartest state in the US is New Jersey. And the dumbest state is Idaho.

The top 10 according to the study are: New Jersey, Utah, Massachusetts, North Carolina, Montana, Virginia, Kansas, Wisconsin, Oregon and Minnesota.

Idaho came in last, followed by Oklahoma, New Mexico, Arizona, Louisiana, Alaska, Hawaii, Mississippi, Ohio and Kentucky.
