Moving into a new house can be a scary proposition for kids and, no matter what you try, nothing seems to work. That was the case with an eastern Iowa woman. Her son Hayden had always shared a room with his older sister but each has their own room in the house they recently moved into. 6-year-old Hayden was scared to sleep in his room and told his mom he "(couldn't) stop the scary thoughts that are creeping into (his head)." He begged his mom Amanda to call the police to help him. Mom did even better. She took him to the police department in Eldridge, Iowa, north of the Quad Cities, last Thursday, August 22. That's where Hayden met Officer Schwartz.

ccording to Amanda's Facebook post, once the officer met and talked to Hayden he came over to the house to do a full inspection to make sure there were "no bad guys and that nothing in his room would hurt him." Officer Schwartz and Hayden inspected his room (below), and the crawl space next to his room. Sure enough, no bad guys.

With the officer's reassuring during the day, Hayden made it through the entire night in his own room. Mom reports he was "SO proud of himself that he made it in there all night!"

The next morning, as Hayden was preparing for his first day of school for the new year, Officer Schwartz showed up. He stopped by to see how Hayden had done the night before and even posed for a picture.

Great job to both Officer Schwartz and Hayden.
