Walking is a great way for all Iowans to boost their physical, mental and emotional health. Considering the times we're living through right now, we could all use that!

The benefits of walking everyday are well documented. Besides helping you lose weight and strengthen your heart and muscles, daily walks can help lighten your mood and improve your sleep. This year, all Iowans are invited to "Team Up for 10" to help celebrate 10 years of the annual event. Your encouraged to team up with your family, neighbors, co-workers, schools organizations and walk for 30 minutes on Wednesday, October 7th. Organizers realize that adjustments will have to be made for this year, due to the COVID-19 pandemic. You can still "team up", but possibly only with members of your household, in a smaller group, in a socially-distanced fashion, or even as a virtual team. Maybe head to a state park or a walking trail where everyone can spread out and walk at staggered start times.
