Miley Cyrus has broken her social media silence after news of her split from Liam Hemsworth dropped on Saturday (August 10). And she wasn't addressing the actual breakup. Instead, it was a call to save our environment and protect nature.

"Don’t fight evolution, because you will never win," she tweeted on Sunday (August 11). "Like the mountain I am standing on top of, which was once under water, connected with Africa , change is inevitable. The Dolomites were not created over night, it was over millions of years that this magnificent beauty was formed."

She continued her message and talked about a lesson that her dad, Billy Ray Cyrus, taught her.

She wrote, "My dad always told me “ Nature never hurries but it is always on time”.... it fills my heart with peace and hope KNOWING that is true. I was taught to respect the planet and its process and I am committed to doing the same with my own .... 💙"

While many were shocked by the breakup, sources have said that this wasn't as much of a surprise.

"This split isn’t shocking to people who are actually with them every day," one of the sources told PEOPLE.

"After they reunited, everyone thought they were this 'perfect' couple, but they still had a lot of issues. They're not on the same page when it comes to a lot of fundamental things that make a relationship work," the source continued. "It's not surprising at all."

As the days progress, more details surrounding their split and how Miley and Liam are doing will come out. Tune in to PopCrush to see how it all unfolds.
