A Denver man was transported to the hospital following a two-vehicle accident in rural Black Hawk County on Monday (Oct. 16, 2017).

Shane Seegers, 40, suffered undisclosed injuries when his vehicle was struck by another vehicle that went through a stop sign, the Iowa State Patrol said. Seegers was taken by ambulance to a Waterloo hospital for treatment.

The crash happened around 6:30 a.m. at the intersection of Wagner and Gresham roads, north of Waterloo. According to a crash report, Seegers was traveling southbound on Wagner Road at the time of the accident. His car collided with a westbound pick-up that failed to yield the right of way and turned left off of Gresham Road in front of Seegars' vehicle.

The pick-up driver -- Ryan Cox, 34, of Readlyn -- was cited for failure to yield and driving with a suspended license, the Iowa State Patrol said.
