It's been a hot one in the Copper State. On Monday, October 13th, the city of Phoenix reached its 143rd day of 100° heat or higher.

According to the National Weather Service in Phoenix, this ties the previous record for a calendar year with 1989.

The record may be broken this week. Wednesday's forecast calls for a high of 99*.

Phoenix has already had 10 days this month with high temperatures reaching 100* or higher. It hasn't been any cooler than 68* for a low temp this month.

In August, the high temp EVERY DAY exceeded 100*, peaking at 117* on August 14th. Only ONE day in July failed to reach at least 100*.

The last time that the high temperatures in Phoenix failed to reach even 90* was May 20th when it was a 'chilly' 86*.
