NOOOOOO!! My childhood is dying a bit with this news... Our friends at Screen Crush are reporting the popular family 'restaurant' Chuck E. Cheese is on the verge of bankruptcy.

I used the word restaurant in quotes because, come on, you go there for the GAMES! The ability to win stuff and, to see the kinda creepy-but-still awesome animatronic robots sing and shake (while loudly creaking). As a child, I went to tons of birthday parties at Chuck E. Cheese. I always enjoyed the pizza enough to get through the rigid dining portion of my time at Chuck E. Cheese, so I could get to the games. For the record, Mortal Kombat II was my jam but, at Chuck E. Cheese they always had the blood turned off which 12-year old me disliked immensely.

So why is the mighty mouse possibly going under? You guessed it: Coronavirus. In a nutshell, the company is attempting raise money and avoid filing for bankruptcy. I sure hope they do... I would love to share the tradition of Chuck E. Cheese with my children one day... I don't have any yet, but when I do I want to take them. Honestly, less to see the wonder in their eyes when the stage show begins, and more so I can again relive my childhood... But hey, the wonder in their eyes us a fine reason, too.

Our local Chuck E. Cheese is at 5911 University Avenue In Cedar Falls. Our Chuck E. Cheese location is currently doing delivery through DoorDash and Grubhub if you like their pizza or wings. Really, their pizza is not bad! But I'm not too picky.
