Sadly, another major area retail store, one that's been a fixture in the Cedar Valley for years is closing down. The Waterloo Cedar Falls Courier reports Gordman's at the Crossroads Mall is going out of business. Prior reports from late February indicated the company would keep the Waterloo location open. But, that was before COVID-19.

This looks like it's finally the end for Gordman's which was founded over 100 years ago, in 1915. The company is based Omaha, Nebraska. Gordman's sells apparel, cologne and perfume; plus footwear for men, women and children. They also have accessories, home décor, gifts, designer handbags, fashion jewelry, bedding and bath, accent furniture and kids and baby toys. With Gordman's and Dillard's closing (the latter already closed) and JC Penney, Sears and Younkers long closed, the once mighty Crossroads Mall now has only one anchor store, At Home, remaining.

The Waterloo Gordman's will close on Sunday, September 27th.
