Rick Rubin Produces, Dr. Dre Mixes on Eminem’s New Album ‘Revival’
Eminem's upcoming album still doesn't have a release date but that didn't stop the Detroit rapper from revealing some new information about the project.
Appearing on Shade 45 with DJ Whoo Kid, Em and manager Paul Rosenberg played it coy when asked about the new album but did let it slip that Rick Rubin and Dr. Dre have worked on the project. According to the rapper, Rubin produced "three or four" tracks on Revival, while Dr. Dre "mixed a few records."
Em also spoke about his collaboration with Beyonce on "Walk on Water," revealing he had always wanted to work with the singer but never had material that he felt suited her. "Everything she does is so perfect," he said. "But the pressures behind that, for her to do it so perfect — I felt like she could probably relate to that."
The rapper also took a small shot at fans hoping he goes back to his old Slim Shady sound, rapping a few bars with the classic Shady voice. He added, "I really love it when people go, 'Hey, you know, Slim Shady, Eminem and Marshall, like, they're really different, like, which one are you on this album?'" He then agreed when Rosenberg called it "a dumb question at this point."
Up next for Em, the rapper will be appearing on the upcoming episode of Saturday Night Live on Nov. 18. Shady will join host Chance The Rapper as the musical guest and is expected to perform two songs.
