Winter weather has arrived in Iowa.

According to the National Weather Service, some parts of eastern Iowa could receive 4-to-6 inches of snow. Gusty wind will cause the snow to blow and drift with temperatures turning bitterly cold, forecasters said.

A winter weather advisory is posted for the southern two-thirds of Iowa until noon. The advisory is for counties along and south of U.S. Highway 20.

Slick roads are making the morning commute a treacherous one for drivers. Due to the road conditions, some northeast Iowa school districts are delaying the start of classes.
