Citing many reasons other than the on-going coronavirus pandemic, the franchise owner of the Tower Park location of Burger King has closed.

The WCF Courier reports that the owner, Mark Malenchik, blames required Burger King restaurant upgrades, road construction and more competition as the main reasons for closing.

All of the Tower Park employees have been transferred to other locations. Malenchik also operates the three other Burger Kings in Waterloo and one each in Cedar Falls and Waverly. The good news is, fans of "BK' can still get their "Whoppers" and no one lost their job. On the other hand, now there's just one more building sitting vacant in the Cedar Valley.
