Cash money, baby! The one thing I think we can all agree we'd love to have more of. I mean, sure, friendship, love, those are amazing. But money... it pays the bills. So when I tell you a Waterloo man turned $20 into $250,000, I likely have your attention.

Dale scored a huuuge payday

So how does one go about turning $20 into $250,000? A crazy invention? Nope. A scam? No. No scam here. Is it buying a lottery ticket? Yep, actually that's exactly how. In fact, that's precisely what Dale Burge did.

Dale won his moolah playing a $20 Iowa Lottery scratch game called "Payline", which features a grand prize of $250,000. There are a total of 8 of those $250,000 grand prizes, while the overall odds of winning are 1 in 2.40.

As of this story, the Iowa Lottery has not published a photo or quote from Dale, but let's assume he'll put the extra coinage to good use. And, he's also in good company. There have been several recent big-money winners from Waterloo, including Curtis Lane who scored a nearly $35,000 payout playing a Monopoly InstaPlay game.

Not long before Curtis one big, Jason Nabholz of Waterloo also won a huge $100,000 prize. If we're stating the luck of Cedar Valley folks, Michael Smith won $20,000 in April but just missed out on winning over $ 3 million.

Some people seem to have all the luck. If you're like me, you've picked up a few bucks here and there playing the lottery. Maybe one day we can all pull a Dale Burge and turn $20 into $250,000.
